Dragon Ball Multiverse Chapter 5

Proof why Future Trunks is one of the manliest characters in this fic. Unfortunately the translation’s not as spot on as it could be…

Rating: 8/10

Immediately we see the savage Saiyans and Nail’s Namek’s leave the tournament, fully aware that they’re overwhelmingly outclassed in this crazy competition.

The first funny fight we see begins on the third page, between the original character Kat (U#6) against Kakarott (U#13). Kat finds herself in between a rock and a hard place as Kakarott’s strength means she cannot even touch him. She then decides to use her secret weapon… Pheromone Attack! Well, see our Goku barely seems attracted to any women, but Kakarott… he reacts exactly the opposite of that… Just look:

What? Poor Goku!

Unfortunately for Kat, her attempts at trying to make Kakarott quit fail as he decides to ‘take her back to his balcony’ (for the view kids-the scenic view) and Kakarott’s idea of romance basically amounts to ‘either she does what I say and If she doesn’t I beat the snot out of her’. Kat quits and Prince Vegeta intervenes, saving Kat only because if Kakarott hit her, their whole group may have been eliminated.
The next fight is one of the most interesting yet, Cell vs Dabura. Both roughly as powerful, with Cell’s wide repitoire of techniques against Dabura’s magical might. Cell throws out some familiar attacks, negating everything Dabura does and keeping him on his toes.

Or off them really.

The issue ends without concluding the fight, by having Cell regenerate several grievous injuries made to his “Perfect Body” by Dabura’s blade. It’s a good touch, allowing the writers to either continue the fight next issue, or explore other avenues of DBM’s story. The art direction in these panels was very good, possibly better than the last issues with some very nice uses of lines, light, shading, and flow in the form of Dabura’s cape. The writing is still good, though the makers of DBM might want to make do with some better translators.
Till next time!
