Dragon Ball Multiverse Chapter 6

Daddy’s little monster!

Rating: 7/10

The fight between Cell and Dabura continues from where it left off, with Cell having the slight advantage. Cell takes the lead by blasting a hole through Dabura using Piccolo’s Special Beam Cannon (Ok ok, Makankosappo!!!) while Universe 13′s Kakarott and Raditz comment on the ‘absurdity”of the situation in their ironic meat-headed glory.

Cell wins the fight as Dabura passes out from blood loss and Cell recovers from having lost his head in the most literal of fashions:

So this would make Cell the Ali of DBZ, right?
The next fight is Universe 16′s Pan against Bojack. After dodging one of his punches she decides to turn Super Saiyan (seems everyone can these days) her power leaves her universe 18′s counterpart in shock; unable to turn Super Saiyan, ‘our’ Pan marvels at her friend’s power. The battle quickly turns in her favor and it seems at first, that Pan has one. However any good fan of Dragon Ball (or Manga in general) knows the golden rule, it aint over until the ugly villain has transformed.

This kids, is what they call ‘deliberately monochrome’.They being the lovely folks over at TV Tropes.

As the fight ends Gohan collects Pan’s body and calms down Bra ( Vegetto’s daugher), stopping her from retaliating against Bojack so as not to jeopardize Pan’s resurrection. After their drama’s are over we’re introduced to the next match before the issue ends, Universe 9′s Krillin (or Kulilin) against Universe 8′s Sauza (Salza). It looks to be an interesting match given that Sauza’s still the same as ever but Krillin’s aged to become his universe’s replacement for Muten Roshi.
(Edit: & Apparently has a shell made of Katchin, Dragon Ball's resident equivalent of Adamantium)

Another nice issue by the folks over at DBM; the art kept up the same standards as the last issue however the choice to kill off poor Pan was a poor one in my opinion, not so much because she died, but who she died against; Universe 16′s Son Gohan knew both the power and remorselessness of Bojack so his decision to allow (and encourage) Pan to fight him seems phenomenally stupid, even by Dragon Ball standards of intelligence. Perhaps they would have been better served by having Pan die against an innocuous seeming but relentless opponent than the obviously evil (and incredibly flat) Bojack. That, and having more of a fight and less of a curb-stomp.
